Estep Wellness Center
- Program Overview
Estep Wellness Center is a fully focused driving force in the various aspects of wellness. This includes the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, occupational and environmental. Estep believes in strength and wellness inside and out. It is this belief that has led to the employment of staff that inspire and motivate patrons and clients on a daily basis. Different from the seven Physical Fitness Centers on Fort Campbell, Estep is a fee based facility that is a hybrid of health and fitness. The fully equipped fitness center offers a variety of choices for the community to get fit. The wellness center has a co-ed spa area which encompasses a sauna (temporarily closed), steam room and locker rooms.
The cardio room is filled with ellipticals, treadmills, recumbent bikes, AMTs, a Summit Trainer, Jacob’s Ladder and stair climbers to encourage you to reach a healthy heart beat! The vast weight room is a muscle shredding pit stop, fully equipped with a variety of more than 90 strength and resistance training machines and free weights. Estep prides itself on a well maintained aerobics fitness program that offers a variety of classes.
The current schedule showcases an array from which to choose. Popular certified instructor lead classes such as Zumba® Fitness, Cycle, Total Pump, R.I.P.P.E.D.®, TRX® Circuit, Belly Dancing, Pilates, POUND®, Sweat & Sculpt, Dance Club Fitness, PiYo®, and more, can be found here. An exclusive program created at Estep is Boot Camp Xtreme (BCX). This five to eight week intense program consists of the three major fundamentals of fitness: cardio, strength, and agility - and is as much physical as it is mental. BCX is offered twice per year with a spring and fall session, limited to 20-30 participants. BCX is not held within the walls of Estep but rather outside in the elements and at various MWR locations.
Estep has a crew of 18+ employees; the majority of whom are trained, skilled and/or certified in some form of fitness such as Personal Training or Group/Specific Fitness. Staff is consistently being trained to industry standards. Estep’s standard of quality is, without a doubt, one of the best offered in its nearly quarter of a century existence. Estep is an ever evolving place for fun fitness. With a fast paced trending culture, it can be hard to keep up, but rest assured Team Estep is progressing in the industry and the community.
Estep Wellness Center is open to all Active Duty, Retirees, National Guard, DoD Civilians, Contractors, Family Members and Guests.

- Success Stories
Growing up I was very active. I played tennis, ran track, practiced Taekwondo and enjoyed water sports and swimming. I never had to worry about my weight until after my son was born. When my son turned two I realized that it was no longer “baby weight” I had to lose. I now weighed more than I did when I was pregnant and was having trouble fitting into my size 14 pants.
When my husband deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 I decided it was time to make a change. A friend invited me to join a Crossfit® box and I fell in love with it. I began losing weight and my body began to change. My husband came home to a whole new wife. I was 30 lbs lighter and fitting easily into a size 6!
Shortly after his return we PCS’d to Fort Campbell. During our PCS leave there was a vacation, lots of eating out and very little exercise. I was regaining my weight and wasn’t able to fit in my new wardrobe anymore. I had to find a gym and fast.
To be honest what originally drew me to Estep was the fact that I could bring my son to their child care facility while I worked out. Although their child care service got me in the door the large variety of classes and exuberant instructors kept my there. For someone who had never really taken a class in a gym, other than Crossfit®, this was very new and exciting for me.
I was soon a regular in Total Pump, Turbo Kick and Pilates. They have a class to fit any and every need. When I need a good cardio day I can change up my schedule and go to a cycle class and if I need to stretch and re-center they offer yoga. Estep is a one stop shop. As I got into the groove of a new gym I noticed Estep offered more than just the regularly scheduled classes.
Boot Camp Xtreme was set to start and I knew I had to be a part of it. I needed to push to get the body I wanted. This was the hardest fitness challenge I had ever given myself. BCX Coaches/Fitness Instructors/Personal Trainers Mandy and Hylan weren’t there to play; they were there to push me past my limits and help me get results. I learned that my body can endure more than I thought it could. At the end of BCX I was back into my size 6 jeans and comfortable in my own skin again.
Immediately after BCX finished Estep offered another class called Tasty Tuesdays with Estep Nutrition Counselors/Fitness Instructors/Personal Trainers. It was basically designed to help patrons make smart eating decisions during the holidays; however this class did so much more for me. It taught me about how to properly fuel my body for workouts and how to make healthy choices when cooking for me and my family. The information given during this class pushed me to make big changes in my eating habits. I am proud to say that I am officially a “clean-eater” (I no longer ingest processed foods) and it has really started to change my body and help me receive the results I was looking for. I am dropping weight and my muscles are starting to show and are more prominent.
Although my weight loss and fitness story did not begin at Estep it most certainly continues because of it. Estep is not JUST a gym to go and work out. They are so much more than that. There is always something extra they are offering to help push you to a new level. The instructors there are truly interested in your overall fitness and health, not just what you accomplish in a class. I can say with 100% honesty that because of what I have learned through Estep and their classes that I will never revert back to my old ways. They don’t just “work you out” they teach you so you can continue your journey even outside the gym.
Send your success story to the email above and we will share it.
