Horse Entry Process

Anyone who is interested in boarding their horse(s) will need to come into the Fort Campbell Riding Stables office and fill out an application. If we have immediate room available for your horse(s) we will review all of your vaccination records and schedule a date for you to enter quarantine.  If we do not have room for your horse(s) at that time, you will be placed on our waiting list until a spot opens up.

All incoming horses are required to do a minimum 7 day stay in quarantine.

We require the following vaccinations prior to entering quarantine:

  • EEE, WEE, Tetanus (within 6 months)
  • Rhinopneumonitis (within 6 months)
  • Influenza (within 6 months)
  • West Nile (within 6 months)
  • Strangles (within 6 months*)
  • Rabies (within a year)
  • Negative Coggins test result (within 90 day)
  • Health Certificate (within 30 day)

*If your horse(s) has never received the Strangles vaccine or is not vaccinated yearly, it will have to receive a two dose series of the vaccine prior to being released from quarantine. After the first initial dose of Strangles is administered, a second dose will be given 14 days later.

Prior to entering the quarantine pen, horses entering quarantine must administer an ivermectin de-wormer in front of a staff member prior to entering a quarantine pen. Fort Campbell Riding Stables does not sell de-wormers; it needs to be purchased by the owner prior to entering quarantine.

Horses may be released by the Fort Campbell Veterinary Facility or a civilian veterinarian. If you choose to use a civilian veterinarian, you must obtain a Health Certificate in order to be released from quarantine. Releases done by the Fort Campbell Veterinary Facility must be scheduled by the owner. Call Fort Campbell Veterinary Center at +1 (270)798-3614 for current fees.
