Russo will dive into her book, The Ascent of Rauschenberg: Reinventing the Art of Flight, exploring the towering legacy and creative heights of American artistic icon Robert Rauschenberg. Famous for his groundbreaking "Combines"—hybrid paintings and sculptures incorporating everyday objects—Rauschenberg held a lifelong fascination with flight. From lithographs inspired by the Apollo 11 launch (which NASA invited him to witness firsthand) to imagery featuring birds and aviation, discover how the theme of flight shaped his revolutionary art.
