The role of the Family Readiness Liaison (FRL) is to serve as the commander’s direct representative to the FRG. FRLs will bridge the gap between the commander and FRG leaders and volunteers to ensure the free flow of information and support between the unit leadership, its volunteers, unit personnel, and Family members continues. The unit FRL will also assist the commander and FRG leader in maintaining a sufficient pool of volunteers dedicated to supporting the needs of the Families, especially during a deployment.
