Reading Takes You Everywhere!

The theme for Summer Reading is Reading Takes You Everywhere!  

Below are the programs that we will have as well as a description of the program:

  • International Day - 11am to 1:30pm on June 5.  Kick off the summer reading program.  Face painting, stories, crafts and more. This is a Family event. 
     
  • Book Club - 1pm to 2pm on June 6, 13, 20 and 27.  Participants will be discussing The Box-Car Children.  Come to the library to see where the children adventures take them.  The library has 10 copies; however, the book can be downloaded online at www.gutenberg.org. This program is aimed at readers in grades 2-6. 
     
  • Practice Spanish - 5pm to 6pm on June 6,13, 20 and 27. Children can learn new Spanish words weekly at the Post Library. This program is aimed at children in pre K-grade 3. 
     
  • Movie Night -  6pm to 7pm on June 6,13, 20 and 27.  We will be viewing the latest Family movies free of charge. The program is a Family event. 
  • Legoland  - 1pm to 3pm on June 19,  July 3 and 10. Are you creative?  Do you like Legos?  Come to the library and see what you create. This is a Family event. 
     
  • Coloring for Families - 1:30pm to 4:30pm on June 7, 21 and 28.  Feeling stressed? Destress by coloring at the library. Coloring pages and materials for all ages. This is a Family event. 
     
  • Self Defense - 1pm to 2pm on June 12 and 26.  Learn some self defense techniques.  This program is aimed at children in pre K-grade 3.
     
  • Library-Con - 11am to 3pm on June 23.  Do you like to dress up in costumes?  Do you like Manga or Anime?  Come to the Library Comic Event.  Face painting, games, crafts and a costume competition by age groups. This is a Family event.  
  • Teddy Bear Sleep Over - at 11am and 1:30pm (2 times) on June 28.  What do teddy bears do when they are left in the library at night?  Children who would like to participate in this program will bring their stuffed animals to the library and the stuffed animals can have a sleep over. This is a Family event. 
  • Summer Reading Finale - 10am to 12pm on July 12. Celebrate your reading success. This is a Family program.
