Deployment can be one of the most stressful times for service members and their families. Mobilization, Deployment & Support Operations (MD&SSO) helps make every phase of deployment easier to manage — before leaving, while away, and after coming home.

MD&SSO connects service members, families, and units with training, classes, and support services that help reduce stress, answer questions, and solve problems early. When families feel supported, service members can stay focused on their mission.

This program supports:

  • Service members and units

  • Spouses, partners, children, and loved ones

  • Unit leaders, rear detachment teams, and volunteers

Military Family

What MD&SSO Helps With

MD&SSO focuses on the full deployment cycle.

Before Deployment

We help families and service members prepare ahead of time so fewer issues come up later.

  • Pre-deployment briefings and classes

  • Information on benefits, finances, childcare, and legal planning

  • Training for unit leaders and family readiness volunteers

During Deployment

We help families stay informed, supported, and connected.

  • Support for families while loved ones are away

  • Tools and training for Soldier & Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs)

  • Help for rear detachment teams and volunteers

During Emergencies

If a disaster or crisis affects the military community, MD&SSO helps coordinate emergency support and recovery services.
