Share Your Recipes: Recipes from all installations are being accepted. Submit your favorite family dishes, healthy garden-to-table meals, or quick weeknight go-tos.

MRE Hacks Wanted! Got a genius way to spice up an MRE? A portion of the cookbook will be dedicated to humorous and creative MRE (Meals, Ready to Eat) recipes and hacks.
How to Submit:
Email your recipes directly to the Marine Corps 📧 MWR Library Program Office
(who is spearheading this joint-service project)Where to Find the Final Product:
Once completed, the final "Field to Table" cookbook will be uploaded directly to the DoD MWR Library OverDrive collection, where you can download and access it for free!

- Program Kickoff - June 2, 2026:
Don't miss our exciting Kickoff event featuring bouncy houses and other activities, MWR vendors, scavenger hunts, and delicious food. - Prizes and Incentives:
Participants can win prizes by achieving their reading goals. Top readers in each age group will also be recognized with special awards. A grand prize will be awarded to one lucky participant chosen by random drawing. - Educational Workshops and Events:
Engage in STREAM projects, arts and crafts, escape rooms, Family Game Nights, plant swap and other special events. - Free Activities for All Ages:
Enjoy free activities designed for children, teens, and adults throughout the summer. Participate in reading challenges, arts and crafts, and engaging workshops. - Special Guests and Story Time: Enjoy Story Time with special guest readers and discover the joy of shared reading experiences.
- Grand Finale - August 1, 2026:
Celebrate the end of our program with a grand Finale with award presentations for our top readers.

In connection with this year’s "Plant a Seed, Read" Summer Reading Program, the DoD MWR Library Program is creating a unique, military-wide digital cookbook titled “Field to Table.”
