What

A basic goal of the Challenge Course experience is to affect an individual’s level of confidence, self-awareness, and personal insights.

A second goal is to help participants learn to function meaningfully and productively in a group setting. Common group dynamics that arise during this process include communication, group problem-solving, roles, utilization of resources, appreciation of individual strengths, trust, and compromise.

A final and important goal is to have adventurous fun while learning. Laughter, words of encouragement, shouts of congratulations, and applause are heard often.

Challenge Course Complex Elements

Odyssey: The Odyssey Course is a 360-foot-long bi-level "Teams Course," designed for small groups. This high ropes course ranges in height from 20-50 feet, includes 10 different obstacles, and culminates with a "zip line" to the ground! The degree of difficulty of the element depends on the level at which each person challenges themselves.

For ages 10 and up.

Alpine Tower: A 50-foot, vertical challenge course designed to present the same challenges as rock climbing and high ropes course elements. This structure provides many routes and difficulty options, allowing for hours of fun and excitement. The Alpine Tower experience also addresses objectives such as:  confidence, trust, support, encouragement, and teamwork. Belay training is given prior to the event and supervised by certified staff.

For ages 5 and up.

King Swing: Soar through the sky on a 35-foot cable swing. On this specialty Challenge Course high element, a participant is towed by a haul team to their desired height. The participant pulls a release cord and experiences a moment of “free fall.” They swing back and forth until coming to a stop.

For ages 10 and up.

Carolina T-Wall: A 50-foot, multi-sided climbing structure designed to simulate outdoor rock climbing. Participants climb vertically on a top rope system while being dynamically belayed by a team of three. Once at the desired height, participants are lowered to the ground by their belay team. Belay training is given prior to the event and supervised by certified staff.

For ages 5 and up.

Team Development Course (TDC)

The low ropes course includes a wide variety of ground-based activities that focus on group dynamics. Teams of 8-12 participants must navigate through multiple puzzles and problem solving tasks. Objectives might include self-confidence, trust, cooperation, communication, teamwork, relationship-building, and bonding.

For ages 10 and up.
