How Do I Sign Up?

As a student: 
Call our office at (270) 798-4800 to schedule your class and you will receive a reminder call 1 week prior to class starting. 
 
To schedule AFTB for a SFRG or Unit meeting: Call our office at (270) 798-4800 to schedule meeting date/time. We will put out a call to instructors to see who is available to teach that day and put you in contact with them. Please give us at least two weeks advanced notice to ensure instructor availability.

AFTB Classes: Learn at Your Own Pace

Our classes are grouped into three levels. You can take just one or complete them all!

Level I: Military Life Basics

Perfect for those who are new to the Army. These classes help you understand how things work. You don’t need special training. Just speak from the heart and tell us what you’d fix.

Topics include:

  • Army ranks and chain of command
  • Acronyms and Army terms
  • Military benefits and support programs
  • Getting involved in your community

Level II: Personal Growth

Build confidence and grow as a person.

Topics include:

  • Setting personal goals
  • Managing stress and time
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Adapting to change

Level III: Leadership Skills

Great for volunteers, SFRG leaders, or anyone looking to lead others.

Topics include:

  • Team building
  • Public speaking
  • Leadership styles
  • Managing group conflict

How to Join a Class

Join an AFTB Class

Ready to learn and grow? Signing up for an AFTB class is easy – and it’s free!

You can take classes:

  • In person at your local Army Community Service (ACS)
  • Online

 

Here’s how to sign up:

  • Check our upcoming class schedule 
  • Call or email ACS to register
  • Bring your military or government ID to class (if attending in person)

You do not need to be in the Army to attend. Family members, DoW Civilians, and volunteers are all welcome.

Company Commander and First Sergeant Spouse Course

Is your Soldier preparing to assume command or responsibility at the company level or higher? Please join us for our Company Commander and First Sergeant Spouse Course. This is a one-day course (9am - 1pm) specific to Fort Campbell and offered twice a year. Topics include:

  • Army Ceremonies and Functions
  • Expectations of Commanders and 1SGs/CSMs
  • Finding your place in the unit as a Command Team Spouse

The day ends with Commander and 1SG guest speakers and a Q&A session to a panel of Senior Spouses.

 

Ball Etiquette Class

AFTB’s Ball Etiquette Class covers the “do’s and don’ts” associated with military formal functions, including how to dress, how to walk through a receiving line, when to sit and stand during the formal portion, and how to follow protocol during the dinner portion of the event.
