Getting started as a volunteer is simple. Most volunteer positions use the Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS), the Army’s official volunteer platform.

Getting Started

Most volunteers follow these steps:

  • Create a VMIS account
  • Search for volunteer opportunities
  • Apply for a position
  • Complete any required orientation
  • Start volunteering and log your hours

Once your application is approved, the organization will contact you with next steps.
